Most of the time, when I give a news headline that Brock doesn’t laugh at, it gets cut. But what I am supposed to do when Brock laughs at none of them? I had no clue, so I just left them in. I thought they were clever, but, as Brock said, cleverness does not always equal entertaining.

Last night Tom Green aired the video that Samuel and I did on Tom Green Live! The parts with Samuel’s son Tristen were edited out though. If you’re interested, go check out my TomGreen.com deputy blog to watch “Assignment #5.” The video was shot on Saturday at the University of Oklahoma. Samuel is a fantastic cameraman and motivator.

what’s funny about Tom Green editing Tristen out is that he is the only one who we ACTUALLY had permission to film. We never got releases from anyone else in the video, hence they could sue tom green for using their likenesses without their written or oral
permission

if tom green were smart, he would advise his deputies to do what most camera people do which is have the person they’re about to interview say “I, insert name here, give permission to tom green to air my likeness.”

That’s hilarious. He took out the only legal part of your video which also happened to be one of the funniest parts. What I don’t get is why he suddenly borrowing a kid for a few minutes is too controversial…we’re talking about TOM GREEN here! Anyway, you guys both did an awesome job with that video, I look forward to seeing more of that stuff in the future.

As for ZSR, sorry that your headlines weren’t that great this time Zack.
1.) With the Mr. Spears story, I assumed you mispronounced Papparazzi.
2.) The drug company being upset about the film being one sided and therefore not appearing in the film (thus making it once sided) is a good point…but that’s not the same as funny.
3.) Um…the punchilne was that the dude died?

Funny enough, I actually asked Tom about release forms several times but never got a reply. I later found out that he probably didn’t answer because then he would be responsible for giving me legal advice. Based on Tom’s remarks though, I believe he feels that release forms aren’t as important on the Internet as they are when people are filmed and broadcast by huge TV companies. Someone on the Tom Green Forum works in TV, and she said that in this instance it would probably be better to ask for forgiveness than permission. It is also less likely for someone to sue us or Tom.
